Alex Roth's MultiTraction Orchestra

Very excited to be involved in a great project spearheaded by guitarist Alex Roth.

MultiTraction Orchestra was conceived as a platform for remote collaboration among a global community of experimental composers, producers and improvisers.

Debut single "emerge entangled" was constructed from improvisations recorded under COVID-19 lockdown by 27 musicians from 15 cities in 8 different countries, all responding to a multitracked guitar piece posted by Alex online, but unable to hear each other's responses. Released to critical acclaim, the track has been played on radio stations across the world including BBC Radio 3 and Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM show. Jazzwise called it "powerful, immersive and intense", while AJ Dehany described it as "a mind-expanding epic with diverse textures invoking experimental jazz, electronica and black metal." Work on the group's debut EP is currently under way.
